Oakmont
The only thing cool about this house when we began this project were the people living in it. This low pitched 1950’s home had too many interior walls, a dated kitchen, leaky roof, no AC vent in the master bedroom, 2 plain baths and many awkward transition areas as a result of four previous remodels. The client wanted a new kitchen, master bath with a large shower, homework space, and in general an open feeling to the interior of the home. The new look to the exterior of the home included a metal roof, if it could be worked into the budget and it was. Masterpiece provided a creative solution to all these things including custom cabinets, a beautiful bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower, cool AC to the master, interior and exterior paint, and electrical and plumbing upgrades. Old siding & brick was replaced with colorful river rocks with new hardi siding above. We also used galvalume steel on all fascia to go with the metal roof – no more painting fascia. The finale was a large open front porch that provides friends, family and musicians a comfortable setting for jamming, chatting and/or listening to music with their newly installed whole house speaker system. Now everything’s cool.
